An AI member for your group chat.

Add Bret's number to any group text. It stays quiet until someone asks, then it answers, sums things up, runs the poll, and remembers what you decided. You can text Bret one on one too.

Add Bret to a group

  1. Add Bret's number to any group text, the same way you would add a friend.
  2. Bret says hi once, explains what it is, and then stays quiet until someone asks for it.
  3. Say “Bret” in a message, like “Bret, where should we eat Friday?”, or text /help to see what it can do.

What Bret does

Otherwise it says nothing. Silence is a feature.

Text Bret one on one

Think a decision through, draft a hard text in your own voice, work through a conflict, or plan something. Bret always answers in a direct chat.

Nothing you say to Bret privately ever shows up in a group.

About green bubbles

If anyone in the group has an Android phone, the group is a green-bubble SMS group. Bret still works there, but replies can be slower, long messages get cut, and each person's carrier may charge for group texts. iMessage groups work best.

Good to know

  • Bret is a bot, not a person, and it can get things wrong.
  • It stores group messages so it can sum up and keep track of decisions.
  • Anyone in a group can text mute, forget this group, or remove the number to drop it.
  • 18+ only. US and Canada numbers during the beta.
